Beautiful report, FX!

I have to say I was completely unaware of the Stratos line and I need to give a second thought to it... At first glance it looks stunning and I must really see one in the flesh, because I am normally worried about big dials with large bezels. 35mm might compromise the visibility...does it?

The annual calendar / crono is simply fantastic. Another one for the wish list. smile

Salon QP 2011: Zenith

 By: foversta : December 17th, 2011-15:09
Zenith was one of the main exhibitors of the 2011 Salon QP. So I couldn't miss a visit at their booth during my journey in London. A very comprehensive selection of the collection was displayed so I took the decision to shoot 4 watches which represent, in...

Striking 10th for me.

Not a big fan of Zenith watches, even if there was a lot done by the new team, these last years, to make it appealing. But a re edition of the Chrono, as they did, or this one, the Streking 10th, are tempting choices. Well made, pleasantly designed, they ...

My fav is maybe the Pilot Chronograph.

Simpler than the Striking 10th, its two subdials lay-out makes it more balanced than some other EP watches. But it is a less subtle watch than the Striking 10th. Thanks for your input! Fx

thanks

Nice write up. For my tastes, Zenith could stand to shrink all of their designs a mm or two, but unquestionably producing solid designs nowadays. Regarding the needle shake in the Striking 10th, the arc of the sweep during which it hivers most varies from...

Thanks a lot Lou for your post.

About the needle shake, I always noticed it when it goes upward, or at least I noticed it more on the left side of the dial than on the right. Thanks for your comments! Fx

No, visibility is ok, no problem!

But the dial opening really reduces the feeling of size and enhances the "powerful" design due to the thick bezel. But it doesn't change the subdials position so visibility is similar to other chronographs... with the trouble of the cut of the subdials. F...

Thank you, FX! Lucid reporting . . .

. . . and photography, as usual. Your comment regarding the scaling of sub-dials on recent El Primeros is well taken. It's remarkable that the new "ladies" models in 38 mm cases also have overlapping sub-dials, even though they're not technically necessar...

Thanks Art.

You are totally right about your comment and after reading it, I realized that I should have shot one ladies' watch... at least the Elite Ultra Thin Moonphase... one of the most beautiful watches of the current Zenith collection! Fx
