that Zenith produced some of the best pocket watch and deck chronometer calibers in terms of chronometry wins and placings between the 1920s and 1960s, apart from excellent wristwatch calibers such as the cal. 133.8, cal. 120, cal. 126 and of course the legendary cal. 135.


Zenith has the most first places/wins in the observatory competitions for wristwatch, PW and deck chronometer movements combined. This is more than number 2 (Omega) and number 3 (Longines) put together.

Well, there were some excellent chronometer movements, if I am not wrong, such as the Cal 135, which is a hell of a movement. Yes, I too was surprised to read that Zenith claimed to have made 500 movements. I thought they made much less, but, on another s...

Dufour indeed is hitting on an important issue, important to watch afficionados, who as you point out, think that Zenith makes two calibers, while JLC makes thousands and thousands of completely different calibers. Both claims aren't right. Just as Zenith...

I, too, think that the "El Primero" name has been used inflationally, to the effect that Zenith is identified with a single movement only. In my opinion, the "El Primero" designation should be used where it makes sense, that means, where a movement is use...
